Criminal Payday Loan Network
An anonymous former driver of Vesko the Pirate speaks to the host about the alleged criminal activities of his former employer. Vesko the Pirate operates the payday loan company “Caribbean Credit 777.” His wife, Monika Borisova, officially owns the company on paper. The organization maintains offices in the following cities:
- Sofia
- Pazardzhik
- Gotse Delchev
- Vidin
- Dupnitsa
- Peshtera
Violence and Threats Against Clients
The witness worked as the manager’s driver for several months. Police revoked Vesko the Pirate’s driving license in 2024 due to a positive drug test. During his employment, the driver observed constant violations and violence. Local employees allegedly harassed and assaulted clients on a regular basis. When borrowers delayed their payments by two or three days, Vesko the Pirate reportedly summoned them and issued threats. He allegedly pulled knives on debtors. The manager also showed clients what was described as an illegally possessed combat pistol with a silencer. He allegedly made a direct threat to a former employee in Gotse Delchev that he would cripple her. At present, police are reported to be holding Vesko the Pirate in custody on charges of extortion. He allegedly attempted to force former employees to pay 80,000 leva, representing unpaid loans from clients that the employees themselves were required to cover.
Serious Crimes and Drug Use
Vesko the Pirate is described as using cocaine on a daily basis. He allegedly boasted publicly to acquaintances about serious crimes committed in the past. The witness lists specific incidents:
- Shooting with a Kalashnikov rifle at a person on a busy street in central Sandanski in 2017. The police reportedly closed the case due to lack of evidence, but the perpetrator allegedly claimed he had buried the weapon and threatened clients with it.
- Arson of an Italian restaurant in Sofia in 2021. Vesko the Pirate allegedly described with pride how he poured flammable liquid and set it on fire.
- A brutal assault on a twenty-three-year-old young man who worked as his driver. An assault group allegedly took him into the mountains and beat him severely. The victim is currently taking medication and reportedly testifying before institutions while declared mentally unfit.
Political Protection and Enforcement Groups
The host explains the connection between organized crime and political power. Politicians such as Borisov and Peevski are alleged to use similar criminal networks for their purposes. Enforcement groups allegedly carry out beatings and participate actively in vote-buying during elections. Payday loan operators are said to force indebted clients to vote for specific political figures.
To carry out violent assignments, criminal leaders allegedly recruit young men from sports schools and clubs for boxing, wrestling, and mixed martial arts. When needed, groups of fifty individuals reportedly enter a settlement with vehicles to intimidate and crush opponents. State institutions — the police, prosecution, and courts — are described as failing to take action against these criminals despite numerous official complaints from affected citizens.
