In an official statement distributed via the "Velichie" Party YouTube channel, Ivelin Mihaylov provided an in-depth analysis of the events surrounding the Sopot protest, aiming to reveal "what really happened" and how the public was "misled". The statement sheds light on the role of the leadership and "troll factory" of "Vazrazhdane Party", as well as the media, in creating "anti-Velichie" rhetoric and distorting facts.
Who is the Real Problem?
Mihaylov emphasizes that "Velichie Party" has no conflict with "Vazrazhdane Party", as "Vazrazhdane" is not the real problem. According to him, the real problem in Bulgaria is Boyko Borissov, Delyan Peevski, and "the mafia that has seized control of the country". He claims that regardless of whether "Vazrazhdane" works with them or not, they are "secondary players". The main goal of "Velichie" is to provide correct information so that citizens can make informed decisions.
Three Simultaneous Events and the Focus of the Sopot Protest
During the Sopot protest, "Velichie Party" managed to organize three events simultaneously:
- A team in Geneva, which achieved a "breakthrough" with international media and organizations, with the aim of disseminating information about events in Bulgaria worldwide.
- A cultural event.
- The Sopot protest, which was directed "against how Ursula von der Leyen and the European Union can conclude a contract with a mafia, with an illegitimate government, with a government that stole the elections".
Criticism of the Gunpowder Factory Deal and the Economic Situation
Mihaylov sharply criticizes the potential conclusion of a contract for the construction of a gunpowder factory with Rheinmetall, promising 1000 new jobs. He contrasts this with "the water scarcity in Pleven", which leads to the loss of "more than 5000 jobs", people leaving the country, a collapse in property prices, and an increase in illnesses. "Velichie Party" does not want Bulgaria to be merely a "contract manufacturer" of weapons but insists on a Rheinmetall development center in Bulgaria, where "Bulgarian youth and Bulgarian scientists" can work. According to "Velichie", the European Union "is increasingly losing ground in Bulgaria" by supporting "the ruling mafia against the Bulgarian people".
Debunking Kostadinov and "Vazrazhdane"'s Lies
The statement categorically denies Kostadin Kostadinov's claims regarding the time of Ursula von der Leyen's arrival and the "staged" incident with the car, calling them "complete nonsense" and indicative of his cooperation with the authorities. Mihaylov points out that von der Leyen had a pre-planned tour with a precise schedule that Bulgarian authorities had to comply with. He reproaches Kostadinov for calling his people at 9:00 AM to stand in the rain to do "PR".
Lack of Conflict Between "Velichie" and "Vazrazhdane"
"Velichie Party" denies media claims of a conflict or fight between its supporters and Kostadinov. It is emphasized that the protest was not "Velichie's" but "a national one", with "Velichie" merely informing about the gathering time. Participants from "United 29" had a conflict with Kostadinov, but "Velichie" was "absolutely correct towards Vazrazhdane and all protesters". A T-shirt against Borissov and Peevski was even offered to Kostadinov by Pelo Krastev, which he refused.
Media Coverage and Treatment of Reporters
"Velichie Party" sharply criticizes media outlets such as BTV, Nova TV, and BNT, accusing them of "manipulation and destruction of the Bulgarian people". "Velichie" supporters "surrounded the Nova TV reporter" to show "culturally, but firmly" that the media "are not welcome" and their lies will not be easily reported. Mihaylov emphasizes that no one was physically attacked, but "psychological pressure" was exerted. He urged reporters not to attend these events, as their coverage is "unfair" and "destroys the fate of young people".
Privileges for "Vazrazhdane"
Ivelin Mihaylov highlights the fact that Kostadinov and his close associates were allowed by the private company to enter the factory during Ursula von der Leyen's visit, while people and deputies from "Velichie" were not. This is interpreted as proof of "the rapprochement of those in power with Vazrazhdane," which questions "Vazrazhdane's" position as an opposition party.
"Velichie Party" as a "Party of the People"
In conclusion, Ivelin Mihaylov states that "Velichie is not a leader's party, but a party of the people," in which "there are many people who are ready to take responsibility". "Velichie Party" will also support the protest of independent organizations in front of the National Assembly on October 3rd.
