Ivelin Mihaylov speaks with the Bulgarian community in Ghent about ways to build an orderly state, the struggle against institutional pressure, and methods to prevent electoral manipulation.
The Path from Economic Migration to National Revival
Many Bulgarians leave the country because of economic necessity or frustration with the actions of thugs and corrupt institutions. Ivelin Mihaylov compares Bulgaria with the Netherlands and Belgium, which have built prosperous societies despite the lack of natural resources. The Dutch maintain their land as a “paradise” through work and perseverance, while Bulgarian politicians fail to organize even their own properties. Bulgarians abroad follow the rules and demonstrate a high level of civic culture, which proves that the problem lies in governance rather than in the people. Mihaylov calls for a transformation that will turn Bulgaria into an orderly and beautiful place to live.
Institutional Repression Against Independent Projects
Mihaylov recounts the creation of “Historical Park” and the village of Neofit Rilski as an attempt to demonstrate a European standard in Bulgaria. International organizations recognize the park as the best in the world, yet the Bulgarian state responds with severe financial repression. Banks impose a mortgage embargo on properties in the municipality in order to halt the project’s development. Authorities attempt to destroy production and tourist attractions instead of encouraging tax revenue. Mihaylov emphasizes that the mafia seeks obedient people and systematically drives knowledgeable and capable professionals out of the country.
Fight Against Electoral Fraud and the “Pod Oko” (Under Watch) Platform
Velichie Party proves before the Constitutional Court the existence of electoral fraud in nearly 50% of polling stations across the country. The electoral process suffers from the widespread replacement of protocols and the discarding of valid ballots by commission members. The team develops the digital platform “Pod Oko” (Under Watch) for the public exposure of officials and their actions. The platform contains information about mayors, municipal councilors, and members of sectional election commissions. Every citizen can check the profiles of the people who count their vote and report violations. Mihaylov calls on Bulgarians abroad to become commission members and observers in order to stop manipulation in polling stations.
Crimes Against Agriculture and Energy Independence
The state administration exerts pressure on small producers in order to serve the interests of oligarchs. The case of Bai Riban’s herd reveals how institutions declare healthy animals to be sick in order to seize people’s pastures. At the same time, criminal groups import sick animals and siphon European funds through fake labels. Mihaylov criticizes the lack of an energy strategy and the destruction of nature through the uncontrolled installation of solar panels and wind turbines. He insists on completing the Belene Nuclear Power Plant, which would provide cheap energy for households and for the development of high technologies.
Vision for Education and the Future of Young People
The education system needs a national ideal that inspires children to develop in Bulgaria. At present, thugs stand at the top of the social hierarchy, which demotivates knowledgeable young people. Mihaylov proposes a return to classical educational models and the encouragement of work habits from an early age. Young people must understand that knowledge is the only path to a happy and free life. Artificial intelligence is a useful tool, but it does not replace the creative thinking of a free individual. Bulgaria possesses the potential to become a technological center if the state creates conditions for security and justice.
Mobilization of Civil Society
Velichie Party aims for a complete replacement of the mafia model of governance during the current year. The ten deputies in the National Assembly have managed to stop many repressions against ordinary citizens through publicity and oversight. Opposition parties often act in symbiosis with the authorities and divide people instead of uniting them. Mihaylov calls on Bulgarians around the world to organize into communities and help one another. Civic activity and the submission of voting applications prevent the abuse of personal data in Bulgaria. The future of the country depends on the actions of every individual.
