Radoslav Ivanov recounts the incident he discovered upon arriving at the office of the “Velichie” party in the capital. The team found a large hole in the entrance door of the premises. The door is equipped with double glazing, which had been pierced as a result of a strong impact. Staff noticed a strange anomaly in the operation of the security system. The alarm did not activate at the moment the glass was broken. It was triggered only when a party employee opened the door to enter the premises.
This lack of a timely signal caused serious concern for the woman who first unlocked the office. She feared that the absence of an alarm might mean a dangerous object or explosive device had been planted inside. During the inspection of the interior, those present noticed that one of the paintings had fallen face down. This fall indicated the force of the impact and the shock caused by the attack. Ivanov and his colleagues found the large stone used to commit the act inside the office.
Actions of the Investigative Authorities
After establishing the damage, representatives of “Velichie” immediately notified the police and the private security company. Patrol units from the Fourth District Police Department, responsible for the neighborhood, arrived at the scene. Investigators also came to conduct an examination of the crime scene. The premises were filled with broken glass.
Law enforcement authorities carried out the following procedural actions:
- They seized the thrown stone as physical evidence;
- They prepared official reports in the presence of witnesses;
- They initiated pre-trial proceedings to clarify the circumstances;
- They requested and collected recordings from all security cameras of neighboring properties in the area.
Radoslav Ivanov clarified that the party does not have direct access to the surveillance recordings. The cameras belong to the property owners and nearby businesses in the area. At the time of the discussion, there was still no explanation from the security company as to why the system had failed to respond adequately when the window was broken.
Connection to Threats and the Bistritsa Exposures
Radoslav Ivanov places this act of vandalism within the context of an ongoing campaign of threats against the party. He connects the attack to specific disclosures made by supporters of “Velichie” days earlier. These disclosures concern illegal waste dumping and the creation of unauthorized landfills in the village of Bistritsa, including pollution of the local river.
According to Ivanov, these actions affect the economic interests of individuals from the criminal underworld. He believes that these circles see the party as an enemy and organize the attacks. Ivanov also recalls the recent arson of the mayor’s car as part of the same retaliatory campaign.
The situation involves serious psychological pressure on members of the organization:
- Ivelin Mihaylov receives threats to his life;
- Radoslav Ivanov is also the subject of threats;
- Relatives of party members are threatened on social media;
- Threats of physical violence are made, including tying up and beating.
Political Assessment and Lack of Security
Radoslav Ivanov expresses sharp criticism of the state of security in the country. He considers it unacceptable that in a state within the eurozone criminals can threaten ordinary citizens and politicians with impunity. Ivanov describes what happened as a targeted act of violence against an entire political organization that has representatives in the National Assembly.
He raises the question of why institutions fail to identify the perpetrators of such crimes. Members of the organization feel concerned about the lack of protection and the freedom with which criminal elements destroy property and issue threats. Ivanov and his team await the results of the review of camera recordings in order to determine who specifically carried out the attack on the office.
