Ivelin Mihaylov: We live in a totalitarian state where inconvenient people are killed

We present to you a declaration of the party “Velichie”.

Political Reality and the Subversion of the Constitution

“We, the parliamentary group of ‘Velichie’, once again wish to express our outrage at the subversion of the Constitution, which is the fundamental law of the Republic of Bulgaria, and at the change of its core purpose. We have all learned by heart that Bulgaria is a republic whose main goal is to ensure a good, honest, and dignified life for its citizens.

What is happening in reality? We have a political system which, unfortunately, functions in a highly coordinated manner in a completely different direction. It does not matter whether we have left-wing or right-wing parties, or parties that supposedly defend human rights. We live in a totalitarian state, where every inconvenient person is crushed, beaten, and even killed.

The Case of Stanislav Zhulev in Gotse Delchev

The latest case is shocking. It concerns a man who comes from the heart of Europe – Stanislav Zhulev, an engineer working for a Swiss company. He returned to Bulgaria in order to spend his salary here, misled by claims that we are a lawful European state. He decided to live in a small town – Gotse Delchev – believing that people there care for nature and respect the law.

He accidentally saw a pipe discharging into a canal and polluting the river, and he filed a report by publishing a video on the internet. When he went to check whether there had been any change, he was attacked by the owners of this waste outlet. He was beaten with sticks, his arm was broken, he received over 30 stitches to the head, he was held under water in the canal, and he was threatened that he would be “slaughtered” at home together with his wife and their three children. He is currently in shock and wants to take his family away because he fears for their lives.

Inaction of the Police and Institutions

The victim went to the police, but they told him: “Well, it is very difficult to determine who did it.” This is absurd, because the pipe and the property are visible on maps, and the attackers’ car was there. It turns out that we have only a superficial смена of mayors to appear a democratic state before Europe, while in reality we are a totalitarian country ruled by the mafia.

After 100 people from the party “Velichie” arrived, the police and the mayors stated: “We do not know whether the people you are referring to will want to speak.” Our intervention became necessary to bring the attacker to the police station, but rather to save him from public anger than to actually detain him.

Systematic Repression Against “Velichie”

This is not an isolated incident – the victim is a coordinator of the party “Velichie.” Earlier, our office in Varna was set on fire after a debate on the program “Panorama,” and the perpetrator has still not been found. Coffins with messages saying that he will be buried have been sent to Pavel Stoimenov. There has been no reaction from either the media or political figures, despite the fact that these are political repressions. Threats have also been made against my family.

Threats from Political Opponents

The chairman of a parliamentary party, Radostin Vassilev, has publicly issued threats on the internet. In a recording, he can be heard saying: “This one, while he is alive, must collect money… we will take it from him… In the end, in the meadow, we will strip him completely naked and let him run through the center of Tarnovo.” He claims that he will use force, beat people, and take their money, adding: “People like him we strip naked… we know how to do it, we train for it, we have done it.”

We see a party leader on a live broadcast openly announcing physical violence. We sent reports to all media and institutions, but there has been no reaction. He is part of the entire system in which everyone remains silent, and in the end it is the ordinary people who suffer.
