Ivelin Mihaylov: “Historical Park” rises thanks to you!

Ivelin Mihaylov (Ивелин Михайлов) shares how support through books helps “Historical Park” (Исторически парк) cope with seizures and repression.

“I want to thank everyone who joins the campaign and buys books when they look for gifts or want to educate their children and themselves. If, thanks to you, we manage to teach people to direct the money intended for gifts or education toward quality publishers such as that of ‘Historical Park’ (Исторически парк), we will continue our cultural and educational work.

Historical accuracy and illustrations

I will show again the books we have. Here is the one about Tervel (Тервел). You can see how beautifully it is illustrated and made. Through the maps a person gains a real sense and returns to history. These are the only artist-historians who actually show you what the Bulgarian warriors, tsars, and other cultures looked like at that time.

Financial progress and future editions

Thanks to the support, we managed to repay one fourteenth of the seizures and obligations. If we continue this way, we will allocate funds for reprints and begin producing new books, because we have started editions that we cannot finish. This activity truly preserves the cultural memory of Bulgaria.

Volga Bulgaria and recommended titles

I will show you the book “Bilyar” (Биляр) about Volga Bulgaria by Konstantin Rudenko (Константин Руденко). He is the best researcher on this topic. The artist is Bulat Gilvanov (Булат Гилванов), whom I asked during the publishing of the book: “What are you? A Bulgarian or a Tatar?” He replied: “I am a Bulgarian.” In Volga Bulgaria there are still people with preserved self-identity. I recommend the book “The Sun-Faced Archer” (Слънцеликия стрелец) to every young man and adult, as well as many other titles that we will continue to publish, including those on Christian themes.
