Ecoterrorism in the Name of Green Energy: How Solar Parks are Taking Over the American Town of Byron, New York State

Обновена на 08.07.2026 - 17:54 от admin

Vlogger Alexandra Fasulo warns about the disastrous impact of the mass construction of industrial solar complexes on nature, agriculture, and the life of the local community in the American town of Byron, New York State.

Industrialization of the Most Fertile Lands

Alexandra Fasulo describes what is happening in Genesee County as a classic example of ecoterrorism, cleverly hidden behind the idea of green energy. The town of Byron has been forced by the state Office of Renewable Energy Siting (ORES) to accept the construction of the giant solar complexes "Excelsior" and "Brusselsville". Foreign corporations are seizing the most fertile agricultural lands in the entire state of New York, which raises serious suspicions of a targeted grab of valuable resources to the detriment of local citizens.

The scale of the energy projects is unprecedented and completely changes the appearance of the rural area. The "Excelsior" facility has a capacity of 280 megawatts and occupies over 3,500 acres of land, to which another 170 megawatts from the new "Brusselsville" project are added. Their total area reaches a staggering 6,000 acres, which is comparable to the size of Manhattan. For comparison, the territory of the settlement of Byron itself covers barely 400 acres, which means that the solar installations will be more than 12 times larger than the entire town.

Ecological Disaster and the Slaughter of Wildlife

The industrialization of these open spaces deals a severe blow to local ecosystems and biodiversity. Mandatory industrial fences made of a massive mesh with a height of 8 to 10 feet completely block the natural migration routes of wild animals. Disoriented deer, raccoons, and hundreds of turtles become casualties on the road, as they physically cannot bypass the thousands of acres of fenced territory to reach their vital water sources.

Fasulo emphasizes that such metal structures are intended solely for industrial and commercial zones, not for residential and agricultural areas. Their installation is required for security reasons, as the solar installations themselves pose a deadly danger of a fatal electric shock to humans.

Here is how solar parks directly affect bird populations:

  • Lake Effect: The vast arrays of panels reflect polarized light that closely resembles a water surface.
  • Fatal Delusion: Waterfowl are mistaken into thinking they see a real lake and dive directly into the glass panels, which leads to their death.
  • Endangered Species: Similar to wind turbines, solar complexes also kill protected bird species like golden and bald eagles.

Property Crash and Stripped Civil Rights

Placing industrial complexes in the immediate vicinity of residential buildings drastically crashes property values. Fasulo gives a vivid example with zoning, explaining that the price collapse is the same as it would be if a neighbor in the countryside suddenly turned their 20 acres into a huge hypermarket. She points out that zoning rules exist precisely to create predictability, but for inexplicable reasons, solar industrial complexes are an exception to the law.

People are completely blocked and cannot sell their homes, as no one wants to purchase a farmhouse surrounded on all sides by 6,000 acres of panels and danger warning signs. Because of this dead end, many local residents suffer severe psychological breakdowns and panic attacks. The situation is further worsened by the fact that the state agency ORES completely bypasses local zoning laws and strips citizens of their rights.

The institution systematically ignores the protests of the people, the expert assessments of biologists, and the official positions of mayors. The agency approves 100 percent of the projects submitted to it, becoming an uncompromising tool for imposing corporate interests over local self-government.

In response to this institutional lawlessness, the following legal actions have been taken:

Institution / Organization Actions Taken Against the State
Fasulo's Non-Governmental Organization 2 separate lawsuits have been filed aiming to stop the projects.
Montgomery County A total of 7 lawsuits have been produced within the last 2 months alone.

A Call for Investigation and Land Protection

The vlogger calls for immediate arrests of the responsible parties, ensuring full transparency, and launching a large-scale investigation into the ways these key agricultural lands were handed over for destruction. She insists that Americans have only one chance to protect the land that feeds them and for which their ancestors fought. At the end of her video, Fasulo urges viewers to share Byron's story to show local residents that they are not forgotten and to support them in their battle against irresponsible energy expansion.
