Host Ognyan Draganov conducts an in-depth conversation with Detelina Parusheva about her personal development, community building in the village of Neofit Rilski, and the massive media manipulation against "Historical Park".
From the Sports Hall to Financial Literacy
Detelina Parusheva grew up in Veliko Tarnovo, where she graduated from a sports school and trained professionally in badminton. The daily three-times-a-day workouts built in her a strong mentality, discipline, and the ability to constructively accept both victories and losses. She and her partner reached a prestigious second place in Bulgaria among women when they were only 16-17 years old.
A turning point in her development occurred shortly before she reached adulthood, when she attended a financial seminar in Sofia together with her relatives. There, the young girl listened to lectures by Plamen Kanchev and Ivelin Mihaylov, which completely turned her thinking about money management around. This event made her realize that the educational system completely fails to prepare children for the most important aspects of real life.
Village Life and the Clash of Values
After spending a year in the capital, Parusheva realized that big city life was not for her. During the 2020 pandemic, she moved to the village of Neofit Rilski along with other young people, where she discovered a true community, immense freedom, and real opportunities for development. In the settlement, investors face two radically different types of local residents.
- Supporters: People who appreciate the public works, participate in voluntary cleanup campaigns, and enjoy the built infrastructure.
- Opponents: Individuals who perceive themselves as owners of the village and systematically break the rules by speeding and driving under the influence.
The guest shares that despite receiving death threats from criminal figures like Simon Milkov, she feels extremely calm because she can count on the unconditional support of the people from the established community.
The Educational System and the Lost Young Generations
The host and Detelina discuss the deep breakdown of values among a large portion of modern youth. According to them, society and the media impose wrong role models, where young girls strive solely for artificial external enhancements and wealth, while young men idealize a criminal lifestyle and easy money.
Despite this worrying trend, Parusheva is adamant that there are many awake and intelligent young people in Bulgaria who read books and have huge potential. The main problem is rooted in the fact that various non-governmental organizations and political factions deliberately direct their attention in the wrong direction in order to use them for their own personal and party goals.
Refuting Media Lies About "Historical Park"
The two interlocutors categorically refute the fake news spread by over 100 media outlets that "Historical Park" is closed. Parusheva explains that journalists deliberately manipulate and take out of context a philosophical social media post by Ivelin Mihaylov. She reminds that Mihaylov is not even the executive director of the company.
The cultural and historical attraction continues to operate and welcome visitors every day, but the management has simply shifted its focus from purely ideological and educational to commercial. The young woman expresses strong indignation at the lack of any journalistic ethics and emphasizes the huge financial and reputational losses that these deliberate fake publications cause to the legitimate business.
State Racket and Political Hypocrisy
According to Parusheva's analysis, the political class and the oligarchy deliberately hinder the development of the complex. They cannot allow the ordinary people to see firsthand that united Bulgarians can create large-scale and beautiful projects without state funding.
| Sphere of Influence | Actions of the State Apparatus According to the Interlocutors |
|---|---|
| Tourism and Education | The Ministry of Education deliberately prevents children from visiting "Historical Park" and learning history through experience. |
| Public Funds | Public procurement contracts are executed poorly (like the mock styrofoam walls in Pernik), with the sole purpose of stealing the funds. |
| Media and Journalism | Leading national journalists act like obedient robots, serving the oligarchy and quickly changing their positions according to those currently in power. |
Detelina gives a vivid example of political hypocrisy with the leader of the "Vazrazhdane" party, Kostadin Kostadinov. In the past, he praised the achievements of the creators and even owns a gold card for the park, but subsequently organized smear campaigns through his supporters. She is disappointed that the so-called people often blindly believe media propaganda without showing critical thinking and verifying facts.
Media Initiatives and Tourism Unification
Currently, Parusheva's main efforts are focused on the development of the independent media outlet "Svoboden Glas" (Free Voice). The team has requested official accreditation for its representatives in the National Assembly in order to objectively cover the work of MPs and raise the real problems of Bulgarians.
In parallel with the media projects, she actively participates in the development of the association "Chudna Balgariya" (Wonderful Bulgaria). This organization aims to unite the best tourist sites in the country and create a shared catalog for the convenience of visitors. According to the young woman, joint advertising and common representation at international exhibitions are key to establishing Bulgaria as an attractive global destination.
