Ivelin Mihaylov: “Nevzorov Bought Votes for Kotsev.” “The Major Media Outlets Deliberately Lied About Historical Park”

Revelations about media manipulation, illegal construction, and institutional protection in Varna.

Entrepreneur Ivelin Mihaylov speaks with a journalist from the “ChasPik” channel to refute the widespread fake news about the closure of “Historical Park” and expose serious criminal schemes along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

Coordinated Media Attack and Fake News

Ivelin Mihaylov categorically rejects the news circulated by leading national television channels and publications about the upcoming bankruptcy of the cultural and historical complex. The entrepreneur states that journalists are deliberately manipulating public opinion, despite the project having published an official statement denying these claims. He gives the example of the program “Agenda,” which suggests that investors’ money has been diverted into personal accounts.

The speaker declares that he has no offshore companies and has never misappropriated funds. The creator of the park explains that the project was financed entirely with private money and can easily be financially audited through the digital records of transfers. Mihaylov describes these attacks as a deliberate attempt to intentionally collapse a company, which in developed market economies constitutes a serious crime.

As evidence of the scale of the repression, he presents statistics on the number of media publications against the complex. In 2018, there were only between 40 and 60, while in 2024 their number reached the absurd figure of 10,860 articles in the public space.

The Illegal “Baba Alino” Complex and Money Laundering

Mihaylov draws a sharp contrast between the unprecedented pressure on his legal business and the complete inaction of the state regarding illegal construction in Varna. He gives as an example the large-scale “Baba Alino” project, which is being built by entrepreneur Oleg Nevzorov without any permits or official documents. The complex operates as an autonomous city with its own illegal water supply and power connections.

Although the mayor of Varna, the Ministry of Interior, and the prosecution acknowledge that the site is illegal, construction continues, and municipal waste collection companies regularly service the area. According to Mihaylov, Nevzorov launders enormous financial resources originating from criminal structures in Odesa as a result of the war in Ukraine.

The speaker expresses strong outrage at the role of leading economic publications in this scheme. The newspaper “Capital” published a favorable analysis of the illegal construction and encouraged people to invest in it. Mihaylov believes that in this way the media outlet becomes a direct participant in an organized criminal group for defrauding citizens.

Local Oligarchy and Vote Buying

The creator of the fraudulent property scheme was initially local businessman Daniel Slavov, known as Dunkata. He acquired land through manipulations and used the state apparatus to cover up his illegal actions. Subsequently, Slavov sold the project to Oleg Nevzorov through intermediaries for the fictitious amount of 200,000 euros, despite the real value of the deal being between 20 and 50 million.

Daniel Slavov controls the Varna prosecution office, courts, criminal police, and organized crime services. This institutional protection allows him to launder money from smuggling with impunity and exert influence over local media through threats.

Mihaylov reveals serious dependencies in local government and the financing of election campaigns.

The entrepreneur harshly criticizes the justice system because of the obvious double standards it applies. He shares that the Varna prosecution office closed a report he submitted about an organized criminal group after only one month and after questioning just four people.

According to the interviewee, Oleg Nevzorov walks freely in Bulgaria because he has a secret agreement with the old authorities. The prosecution and courts deliberately do not bring charges against him, which prevents the police from taking action to arrest him.

Repression and Readiness for Debate

State pressure against Mihaylov continues with the confiscation of his personal and business vehicles, proving the absence of accumulated enormous wealth. He emphasizes that he lives modestly in a rural house in Neofit Rilski, while participants in illegal schemes demonstrate a luxurious lifestyle. The entrepreneur covers his expenses by withdrawing his personal pension insurance savings worth 50,000 euros, which he had accumulated since 2003.

At the end of the conversation, the speaker issues an open challenge to the newspaper “Capital” and its experts. He insists on holding a public roundtable in front of cameras, where facts and documents can be presented transparently. Mihaylov expresses confidence that such an open debate would clearly prove the involvement of the media outlet and its owner Ivo Prokopiev in organized criminal schemes.
