Institutional Repression and Double Standards: The State Machine Against Bulgarian Business – Ognyan Draganov

Обновена на 18.07.2026 - 23:12 от admin

Host Ognyan Draganov launches harsh criticism against state institutions for the coordinated massive inspections against compliant agricultural producers during harvest, while at the same time exposing the lack of real control over large-scale environmental and corruption problems.

Coordinated Attack Against Producers of Quality Food

The state apparatus organizes an unprecedented inspection against the largest vegetable producer in the country, Pavel Stoimenov, exactly during the peak of the harvest campaign. Representatives of more than ten institutions, including the fire department, the State Agriculture Fund, and regional environmental inspectorates, block the operation of the farm based on an anonymous complaint. The inspectors are accompanied by police patrols, creating additional tension during the normal work process.

Stoimenov is among the few farmers in the country who still grow high-quality bread wheat. In the past, Bulgarian people were largely fed with wheat of this quality, while today the market is flooded with feed crops intended for animals, which worsen people's health. According to the host, every attempt to offer a high-quality Bulgarian product is immediately stopped through severe administrative harassment by political authorities.

Double Standards in State Control

While institutions apply daily pressure on compliant entrepreneurs, these same control bodies completely ignore blatant violations and real problems in the country. A clear example of this double standard is the deliberate inaction regarding environmental crises and the lack of oversight over questionable infrastructure projects.

Subject of Control Actions of State Institutions
Independent Farmers (Pavel Stoimenov) Subjected to constant massive inspections by dozens of institutions and police during the active harvest period.
Environmental Problems (Landfills) Regional environmental inspectorates completely ignore more than 30,000 submitted reports about illegal landfills that severely pollute nature.
Infrastructure Projects Complete lack of oversight over the spending of more than one billion leva of public funds for replacing road barriers, while accidents and abuses continue.

The state employees conducting inspections against businesses demonstrate incompetence and disrespect toward working people, appearing on site wearing inappropriate clothing such as shorts. The administration categorically refuses to take responsibility for its actions, with every official shifting blame higher up the hierarchy without resolving the actual issues.

Political Irresponsibility and Parasitic Administration

The state administration functions as a large organized criminal group that is entirely funded by citizens' taxes without creating any real value. The political class is extremely corrupt, and officials unquestioningly follow orders to crush inconvenient people who follow the rules.

President Rumen Radev is subject to harsh criticism for continuing the repressive practices and political dependencies of his predecessors. He is compared to artificial intelligence that monotonously repeats learned phrases while actually refusing to stop institutional harassment against working people. The ruling politicians and former generals have destroyed the state and use institutions solely as “clubs” for settling scores.

Lack of Critical Mass and Public Apathy

There is deep disappointment over the lack of a critical mass in society that can truly oppose these destructive processes. Bulgarians are called upon to awaken and demand strict accountability for the spending of public funds instead of accepting the role of silent witnesses whose money is stolen without restraint. At present, the state has been transformed into merely a territory with a population, rather than a truly functioning society capable of defending its interests.

In support of this thesis, a satirical song is quoted that compares those in power to parasitic pigs who have taken over and plundered the state. The main message is that politicians will continue abusing their power until the people organize effectively and remove them from governance.
