The Presidential Candidacy of Ivelin Mihaylov and the Battle for Justice in Bulgaria

Обновена на 08.07.2026 - 18:04 от admin

In an interview with Iliyana Benovska, the interlocutor Ivelin Mihaylov comments on the severe political and economic crisis in the country, the institutional attacks against his business, and his readiness to run for president.

Media Manipulations and Attacks Against Business

The interlocutor categorically rejects the circulated rumors about the closure of "Historical Park", defining them as a targeted manipulation by the publications around Ivo Prokopiev. In response to journalists' questions regarding his personal income, he uses open sarcasm, stating that rich mistresses support him. The entrepreneur emphasizes that unlike the political elite, which only drains the state, he has built a successful and completely legal business without using state funds. The interlocutor points out that the projects managed by him have over 280 construction permits and strictly comply with all European requirements, but are nevertheless subjected to constant institutional harassment.

Despite his compliance, the businessman shares about severe repressions and brutal attacks against his family. He recounts how an individual with a criminal record publicly insults his children, and the "SG Group" faction has made threats of physical violence toward his wife. The businessman has filed official reports with the prosecutor's office regarding an organized criminal group, providing video materials and witness testimonies of extortion. However, the institution terminated the investigation after questioning only 4 people, 3 of whom were the perpetrators of the crimes themselves.

Institutional Umbrella and Economic Crimes

The interlocutor expresses strong indignation at the state's double standard, giving the illegal "Baba Alino" project as a vivid example. He claims that the "Capital" publication published hidden economic advertising for this criminal project shortly before the local elections in the summer of 2023. According to him, the scheme served to launder tens of millions of euros in cash, but not a single law enforcement institution has undertaken the necessary investigation.

To illustrate the lack of professionalism in the public sphere, Mihaylov sharply criticizes the so-called analysts and journalists. According to him, they overwhelmingly fail to differentiate between a public, joint-stock, and limited partnership company, yet they bombard society with incompetent analyses of his business. The interlocutor also gives the example of the candidate for chief prosecutor, Metodi Lalov, who believed his ironic statement about rich mistresses, demonstrating, according to the entrepreneur, an exceptionally low intellectual level.

The businessman also comments on the state budget, which in his opinion is "bold" only in distributing huge sums to the oligarchy under the Recovery Plan, while small and medium-sized enterprises are left without any support.

Infrastructural Collapse and Ecological Disasters

The businessman draws a grim parallel between the current state of Bulgaria and the backwardness of Tsarist Russia before the Crimean War, pointing to the systematic destruction of railway transport as proof. He completes the picture of total administrative chaos with a personal example, sharing that almost 3 years ago he paid 16,000 BGN to increase the electricity capacity at one of his properties, but the state-owned company has still not fulfilled its obligations.

The interlocutor also warns of a severe ecological disaster along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, caused by fuel oil leaking from bombarded Russian tankers. He claims that the media and institutions deliberately conceal this huge problem, which directly poisons holidaymakers and inflicts irreparable damage on the tourist season.

The Threat Facing Borrowers

Mihaylov directly blames the systemic parties for the progressive impoverishment of Bulgarians, which according to him is due to their inflationary policies and premature preparations for introducing the euro. He predicts a serious financial blow to households due to the expected drastic increase in loan interest rates.

Financial Risk Description according to the interlocutor
Interest Rate Increase The European Central Bank is quietly raising deposit interest rates, which will inevitably affect the Euribor index.
Blow to Households By September, mortgage loan installments could double (in Germany, interest rates are already reaching up to 13%).
Loss of Properties People will be forced to return their apartments to the banks due to an inability to pay them off, but will nevertheless continue to be financial debtors.

The Velichie Party and Readiness for Presidential Elections

Against the backdrop of the total institutional and moral crisis, Mihaylov announces his readiness to run for president of the country. According to him, this is a key position from which rulers can realistically be held accountable and work can be done for the benefit of the ordinary person, rather than oligarchic circles.

He is firmly convinced that the Velichie party has remained the only political force with the courage to expose state thefts and bring light into the lives of Bulgarians. The interlocutor shares that his organization has an army of highly educated and self-sacrificing sympathizers who are fully prepared to actively integrate into the country's governance and economy as soon as the political wind changes.
