The new season at “Historical Park” places strong emphasis on a high-quality tourist experience, enriched with new attractions and a healthy lifestyle concept.
1. Clean Food and Natural Products
One of the biggest announcements for the upcoming season is related to the culinary experience in the park. Kateto from Czechia officially takes over the management of the bars and the two restaurants within the complex. Her concept is fully focused on investing energy and care into offering high-quality products.
What will the restaurants offer?
- Homemade food and drinks: The menu will include the traditional pies of “Historical Park,” homemade desserts, natural juices, various syrups, and herbal teas.
- Ice cream and waffles: The venues will offer waffles and homemade machine ice cream. While homemade ice cream may be available as early as March 3 (depending on weather conditions and volunteer availability), the official launch of the ice cream machine is scheduled for April.
- Partnership with “Rozarium”: The restaurants will work in direct cooperation with the local site “Rozarium” and the community of the village of Neofit Rilski.
A Philosophy of Healthy Living Without Chemicals The entire community around the park and the village follows a philosophy based on clean food. Residents rely on products without chemicals, preservatives, or artificial additives. Fresh vegetables are used (for example, lettuce salad sourced from “Food from the Village”) along with high-quality olive oil. The community tends to avoid conventional pharmaceutical solutions — instead of painkillers, people prefer herbal creams, teas, and alternative methods for strengthening the immune system.
2. Tourism, Infrastructure, and Experience
The tourism potential of “Historical Park” and the village of Neofit Rilski is expanding significantly to offer a complete experience rather than just a one-time visit.
Accommodation and New Amenities For guests who wish to stay longer, accommodation capacity in the village has increased. Three new guest houses are now operational, and a traditional village sauna has been built as an additional relaxation attraction. Special overnight packages are offered for holiday periods.
Transport Accessibility To facilitate access for visitors from across the country, organized excursions with provided transportation are available. Travelers can register for trips departing from cities such as Dobrich, Varna, Burgas, Sandanski, Blagoevgrad, Sofia, Plovdiv, and Stara Zagora.
Unique Atmosphere and Nature The location is described as having a completely different energy — as if visitors enter “another country” or even “another planet.” The park offers an escape from urban concrete, allowing children to run freely on the grass, connect with nature, and observe more than 100 ducklings swimming in the lake. This authenticity is highly appreciated by foreign tourists (for example, visiting families from Germany), who often value the genuine Bulgarian experience even more than locals do. For those seeking more adventurous experiences, guided jeep tours through the surrounding countryside are also available.
3. A Rich Calendar of New Events
This year, the events calendar at “Historical Park” will be more diverse, intensive, and filled with entirely new formats designed to entertain a broader audience.
Traditional and Established Events at the Start of the Season:
- March 1 (Falcon Day): An international falconry gathering with competitions featuring birds of prey. Special guests and participants from Czechia will attend. (Expected guests from Qatar were unable to obtain transportation licenses for their birds this year.) Czech participants will remain in the complex until March 3 to interact with visitors and enjoy the atmosphere.
- March 3 (National Holiday): Special discounted ticket prices are planned — €6 for children and pensioners, and €12 for adults.
- March 28 (Todorovden): Traditional horse races will be held.
New Formats and Attractions: In addition to well-known historical reenactments, the management is introducing modern cultural events to attract a wider audience. The park will host:
- Rock concerts.
- Workshops and exhibitions.
- Evening painting sessions.
- Night walks throughout the complex.
New models of “Historical Park” T-shirts are also expected to be released, available both on-site and online, turning visitors into living ambassadors of the complex. Charitable initiatives are planned as well, including organized excursions for children from social care homes in Varna, giving them the opportunity to spend a day in nature among the animals of the park.
