Protest in Front of the National Investigation Service (Националната следствена служба)
On January 1, we gathered in front of the National Investigation Service (Националната следствена служба) together with supporters of the “Velichie” party („Величие“). Present were also Member of Parliament Maria Ilieva (Мария Илиева) and Mr. Gyorev (г-н Гьорев). The Christmas and New Year holidays passed while our associates were and still remain detained as political prisoners. During the time of their detention, nothing has changed – Boyko Borissov (Бойко Борисов) and Delyan Peevski (Делян Пеевски) remain in power, even if formally in resignation. The Bulgarian people must do everything possible to remove these two “piglets” from “Animal Farm” so that the judicial system and the prosecution can begin to function properly.
These five people were not with their families or in their homes during the holidays. Their only consolation was that they at least had electricity, unlike half of Bulgaria, where electricity was deliberately cut off during both Christmas and New Year’s. This was done simply to remind people how they are expected to vote in elections.
Mechanisms of Pressure and Double Standards
Is this the way they attempt to break Ivelin Mihaylov (Ивелин Михайлов) and force him to sing in the choir of the “mafia party”? It is clear that he does not comply. They started with business proposals, then financial ones, followed by threats, and eventually carried out some of those threats – several people close to him were arrested. This represents an attack against a person who acts with conscience, works with dedication, and takes responsibility for what happens in his organization and community. They decided this was the most effective way to strike him and therefore resorted to an entirely unlawful action, which demonstrates the lack of legal grounds.
At the same time, we witness how real criminals with proven offenses are released on bail of 5,000 BGN. We are talking about drug dealers, repeat offenders, and individuals who have caused traffic accidents involving children. They are free and at home. We also see individuals from the Fifth District Police Department of the Ministry of Interior (Пето районно управление на МВР) with proven crimes. Our people are completely innocent. Their only “crime” is engaging in private business without accusations from defrauded parties. These are their own funds, and not a single lev has been stolen from the state. The accusations of an “organized criminal group” are fabricated. It may not be a group, it may not be organized, and it may not have committed a crime, yet it still remains in detention.
Political Mobilization and Personal Responsibility
If there is anything positive in this situation, it is that everyone can now see what kind of people we are dealing with. We must mobilize ourselves far more actively for early elections in order to remove these criminals. I am convinced that this act will motivate many citizens to vote and to safeguard fair elections. We must not deceive ourselves – Borissov and Peevski can order the arrest of anyone who is inconvenient and who opposes their mafia-style rule.
Bulgaria faces a serious problem – no one assumes personal responsibility. Boyko Borissov always assumes “political responsibility,” which in practice means collective irresponsibility. We, however, will seek individual accountability from everyone who commits crimes. When they lose power, these people must go to prison. Anyone directly responsible for the injustice against these five individuals will face accountability before the Bulgarian people.
Lack of Support and the State as an Organized Crime Group
Where are the other parties, such as “We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria” (Продължаваме промяната – Демократична България)? They also had a so-called “political prisoner,” yet now they claim the cases are fundamentally different. We had the opportunity to be in the National Assembly and saw that agreements exist among all parties and that no real opposition exists except “Velichie.” Depending on interests and political configurations, they form different alliances.
Those in power treat the state as private property and the population as servants. Those who refuse to comply face repression. None of the detained individuals are formally connected to the party itself; they are associated with the circle around “Historical Park” („Исторически парк“) and Ivelin Mihaylov (Ивелин Михайлов).
We have supported initiatives of all parliamentary parties. We supported PP–DB (ПП–ДБ) during votes of no confidence. We supported MECH (МЕЧ) when their parliamentary group was dismantled. We supported “Vazrazhdane” („Възраждане“) in defending their parliamentary immunities, as well as APS (АПС) when they were pressured. None of them, however, expressed solidarity with what is happening now. This shows that we are facing a serious organized criminal structure at the state level, in which everyone has a role.
The Real Reasons for the Repression
We call them political prisoners because the investigation dates back to 2013. The file sat in a drawer at the Prosecutor’s Office (прокуратурата) and was taken out only after “Velichie” became influential and demonstrated that it is the only force opposing mafia interests. This represents a targeted operation against free Bulgarian citizens.
These people are proven professionals. Plamen Kanchev (Пламен Кънчев) has four children, a family, and a business. We respect them for standing their ground. There was real pressure on them to sign false statements against Ivelin Mihaylov in exchange for their release, but they refused.
Everyone must understand that within this year the current power structure will fall. The solution lies in fair early elections. We are already organizing across the country to prevent further mockery of our future.
The Eurozone and the Fear of the Status Quo
People should recall when Bulgaria decided to enter the eurozone. The decision on the convergence report was taken in March, precisely because it was clear that “Velichie” would enter parliament and expose the processes. All limits were crossed in order to enter the eurozone without a budget, without a government, and without meeting the criteria. A binding agreement was signed, from which there is no exit.
All parties – PP–DB, BSP, and ITN – united under the slogan “Let us enter the eurozone.” By July, they replaced regulators and appointed loyal figures to secure their control. They realized that a party they could not stop was entering parliament. The spark was lit. They regrouped and resorted to arrests of people who educate youth, publish books, and teach moral values. Is this the organized crime group in Bulgaria? The real organized crime group protects drug and alcohol production with the assistance of the Ministry of Interior, the courts, and the prosecution.
Conclusion
Gentlemen in power, the flame will continue to grow and will burn everything harmful. The stone has been thrown. Expect the waves that will drive you out of your “private property” and return it to the people. We will bring international journalists and show who you are. Your end is approaching.
The truth is that Boyko Borissov wants to enter history as Stefan Stambolov, but he will remain remembered as a thief who destroyed the state. We will ensure that this becomes the final assessment of his legacy. Freedom for our political prisoners! We are proud of you!
